BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
Know what to look for
Compare the service, the evidence behind its claims, and the terms that matter to your family.
A public listing is not a recommendation. Claimed details come from the owner. Read an individual audit to understand the scope and date of any verified checks; a badge is not a guarantee of service.

RULES & SOURCE GUIDANCE
Understand which requirements apply
Use Medicare’s provider comparison tools for participating agencies. A directory listing does not establish Medicare certification, eligibility or coverage; confirm the individual care plan and costs with the agency and payer. Medicare: compare care providers.
KDHE provides licensing and certification resources for hospice and home-health agencies. Match the legal entity and service type. Kansas KDHE: facilities and licensing.
This is introductory guidance, not a complete review of every Kansas or local rule. A source may describe national guidance or professional standards rather than a legal requirement. Explore Kansas guidance.
PARTINGPOINT STANDARDS · PROPOSED FOR REVIEW
The evidence we propose requiring
These are our proposed review criteria, separate from legal requirements. Publishing them does not certify existing listings or change their badges.
- Care team and response plan
- Document the clinical team, out-of-hours response, service area and coordination with the treating clinician.
- Coverage and costs
- Explain eligibility, covered services and any room, board or other costs in writing.
- Identity and relevant credentials
- Record the responsible business or organization and service area. Check applicable licenses with the issuer and distinguish mandatory permissions from voluntary training or membership.
- Clear terms and a contact for concerns
- Keep dated service terms, charges or eligibility information, cancellation arrangements where relevant, and a named route for questions and complaints.
Keep evidence current
Record the source, date checked, scope and any expiry. Missing evidence remains unverified. We propose rechecking dated or expiring information and removing affected verification claims when evidence is no longer valid. These are proposed editorial controls, not an automated renewal system.
Payment or claiming a listing does not satisfy these checks. Any future recommendation would require separately published criteria.
QUESTIONS TO ASK
A useful starting conversation
- Who responds overnight, and what care can actually be provided at home?
- What would our family pay, and who explains changes in coverage?

Public record: gathered from public sources. Claimed: provider information reported by the owner. Verified audit: a separate completed audit. More reviews or higher ratings do not mean a provider has been audited. Placement is never sold.
