How to read a listing
Public record
Built from public records and published data. Nobody at the business has confirmed it, and we have not audited it. Verify hours, staff, and any pricing directly with the provider.
Reported by the provider
The owner claimed the listing — free — and the facts are now theirs. They are labeled as reported, because a claim confirms who is speaking, not whether it is accurate.
Verified by Parting Point
A person checked the listing against public record and the provider's own documents. Verified listings carry a public audit page, and the badge comes off if a check fails.
THE SIX CHECKS
What an audit checks
- State license — Establishment license and the professional of record, checked against the state board.
- General Price List — The current GPL collected, with recent charges sampled against the published list.
- Facility claims — Claims about the premises — on-site crematory, chapel, accessibility — checked where they are physical.
- Staff credentials — Licensed staff checked against state rolls.
- Photos — Every photo confirmed as this facility, current and unedited. Verified listings cannot use stock images.
- Ownership — Independent or chain-affiliated, confirmed against the license entity and county records.
THE LIMITS
What an audit does not check
- We do not evaluate the quality of care or the services provided.
- We do not audit every transaction — pricing checks are sample-based.
- We do not review complaints beyond the public licensing record.
- Where no licence exists for a category, we say so instead of implying one was checked.
