Winter 2026–27 Illinois Funeral Price Study
This winter Steward is hosting a study of current prices from Illinois funeral homes that choose to take part, so that families can see real, dated prices and firms can see how their area compares. Taking part is free and does not require a listing, a claim or a paid profile.

What Steward is asking for
The current prices for one location, three ways. A link to the price list on your own website is quickest. You can email the list as a PDF or a clear photo to info@partingpoint.com with the reference number the form gives you — this page does not take file uploads. Or you can type the prices into the form, one line per service, with what each includes and any required extras. Current prices offered to the public only: not planned prices, costs or margins, and nothing about any family or client.
Who can send prices
An owner, director, manager or staff member sending for the business. Use a business email if you have one. Before anything you send is used, a person at PartingPoint confirms that you represent the business, through its own website or telephone. A name, a role or a ticked box on its own is not that confirmation, and we never ask for identity documents.
What is published, and how
A person reads every submission before anything from it is used. What is published are facts taken from it: each service's price as offered, the conditions attached, the effective date and the location covered, credited to the business. A price applies to the location and date it was given for; it is never carried over to another location. No original document is posted.
Taking part does not mark a listing as verified, and the study is not an endorsement or a ranking. Declining has no effect on your free listing.
The report
The report is targeted for February 2027. If you ask for it, we email you its link once. It gives a county or metro-area summary only where enough independent businesses offer comparable services — at least five independent businesses with a current price for that service in that area. Elsewhere it gives a broader regional or Illinois summary and says plainly which areas had too few lists to compare. Every figure carries the number of price lists behind it, their dates, and what the service includes and leaves out. Not every county will have its own summary.
What this study is not
It is not a survey of every funeral home in Illinois and will not be described as one. It is a pilot that starts with a few counties and grows only as homes take part. PartingPoint is independent — not a regulator, a trade association or anyone's agent.
Changes and withdrawal
If your prices change before the report, send the new ones and they will be checked and replace the old. To withdraw before the report is published, or to have figures taken down afterwards, write to info@partingpoint.com.
