Funeral establishments, directors, and embalmers are licensed by the State Board of Embalmers & Funeral Directors — check any license free with the state board. Attorneys and insurance producers are public records too; every verified listing links its record.
Your right to prices
Federal law (the FTC Funeral Rule) entitles you to a General Price List at any funeral home — in person or by phone. Cemeteries and memorial parks are NOT covered, so published pricing there is voluntary.
If money is tight
